Introduction

A feature that adds considerably to the versatility of Flash is its ability to load and control movie clips already built as swf files. In this short tutorial, we will demonstrate the basics for loading and controlling simple movie clips saved as independently built swf files. In addition, we will show how similar control of Flash video fils (flv) can be handled directly in ActionScript 3. We end with a simple educational application that illustrates why this feature is valuable for the flexible design of learning objects.
